DEMO YOUR EDGE WHEELS BEFORE YOU BUY THEM!

So you know exactly what you want from your wheels, right? You've read all you can read and filled your head with just about all the research your can handle...but still you're just a little on the fence about whether or not to pull the trigger.

Edge Composites now has an exclusive demo program that not only connects you directly to our products but also allows you to get just a little more familiar with your favorite bike shop.

Call us old-fashioned, but we still believe that local independent bike shops are the best place for you to purchase your wheels. You know you're going to get great service and advice from people you already have a relationship with, and you're already sold on the capabilities of your mechanic - after all, he's dialing your wheel selection in to your existing drive train.

So here's how it works.

Simply call or email us and we'll help you select the best wheels for your particular needs and riding conditions. If you don't have a favorite shop, we'd be happy to make an introduction. We'll then call ahead with a FedEx tracking number so they can prepare your bike when the wheels arrive. Once at the shop, your mechanic will swap out your existing wheels for the sweet set we've shipped out...and you're on the road. One week. On us. That's seven days of riding in your own back yard to climb your favorite hills faster than ever, drop the guys on the group ride with a sprint worthy of the green jersey or simply enjoy the feel of your bike like you never thought possible.

Here's the small print.

We want you to love the wheels...but we want you to make a small commitment to your shop in exchange for the week's liberty you're asking them to offer you. So here's how we do it. We take a fully secured deposit of $250 that we hold on your credit card. Based on the feedback we've been receiving over the last couple of years, it's highly unlikely you'll be disappointed - but if you take the wheels out and decide they're just not for you; your $250 is returned without obligation. In fact all we'd ask of you in return are your comments.

But if, like us, you love your new EDGE demo wheelset, keep it for another week, ride down to the shop and pay the balance. In the meantime, we'll ship a brand new, shiny set of wheels that you can exchange for the demos. And to make you feel even better about your decision, we'll also donate 1% of your purchase price to your local trail alliance or cycling team to invest in the future of cycling in your area.

It couldn't be easier. Just call us on (801) 476-3363 or email info@edgecomposites.com and start a whole new relationship with your bike.

*Offer subject to availability on a first come, first served basis

ZAJICEK WINS FINAL STAGE OF GILA; 3RD ON GC

Phil Zajicek has every reason to be happy this week with perhaps the best win of his career now firmly on the resume, not least due to the fact that the guys he trounced to the line were none other than ProTour teammates Lance Armstrong, Levi Leipheimer and Chris Horner.

Stage 5 of the Tour of the Gila is aptly named ‘Monster’, 170km and 2,800 meters (over 9,000 feet) of climbing is good enough reason for the name to stick.

With a race profile resembling that of a jagged saw tooth and two major climbs inside the last 50 k, it was always going to be a case of last man standing wins. With 50 k remaining on the Cat 1 climb, Chris Horner (Mellow Johnny’s) forced the pace such that there were only 6 left in contention over the top. It was a case of hang on if you can as Armstrong, Horner and Leipheimer inflicted as much pain as they could muster on the bunch.

Phil riding shot gun on the Mellow Johnny’s train was riding himself onto the podium for the overall and to the rarefied atmosphere of those bold enough to trade punches with such cycling luminaries as Armstrong and Leipheimer and come out on top.

“The last part of the final climb is severe as you come into the finish it really kicks up. Levi was turning the screws, I was on Armstrong’s wheel with Beyer (BMC) on Leipheimer’s wheel. When Beyer lost contact, Lance must have been under some pressure and yelled at Leipheimer to go! I attacked straight away and was lucky enough to have timed it so that I immediately got away.” Said Phil.

Phil went on to say, “beating Armstrong and Leipheimer when they were giving it everything for the stage win is really special and to finish on the podium with them is a highlight in my career”.

Zajicek and his teammates raced Gila on the Edge 1.68 Tubular wheelset. "At The Tour of the Gila I chose to use the Edge 68's. These wheels are incredibly fast, light, and responsive. Equally comfortable flying down a 60mph descent or accelerating away from Lance in the final 200m of an uphill sprint."

Next stop for Team Fly V Australia is the Joe Martin stage race Fayetteville, Arkansas commencing on Thursday 7 May.

Welcome to the all new Edge website!

If you're already a frequent visitor to edgecomposites.com, you'll probably see a world of a difference with a new site format that puts our products exactly where they belong - up front and center! And if you're a little green as to what we're all about and what makes us tick, then you might want to make yourself comfortable as we've got a whole lot to show you!

Over the last few months, we've all had our noses to the grindstone. Our engineers have been working on new designs and perfecting existing ones. Our product managers keeping an ever-open eye on the industry and all the nuances that go with it. Our marketing guys have made deals with new athletes and welcomed back those who we've had the pleasure of working with for what seems decades. Our sales lines have only gotten hotter and we've had some fanstastic conversations with customers new and old.

Edge is a pretty cool place to call 'home', and I think this really sank in for all of us following the last few weeks of racing since the World Cyclocross Championships and Tour of California. Our riders have been killing it on the circuit using our equipment to give them that bit of an edge on the competition (no pun intended) and this translates beautifully to what we've all been busting our heinies for - to make great products that really deliver at pro level.

So what about us? Well, frankly, we're a pretty humble, down-to-earth lot with backgrounds and experience in this wonderful industry that have kept us coming back for way longer than any of us would care to dwell on; not least because we'd be giving away just how many candles we have on the cake these days. But, the one thing we all show up to work for each day (that you don't always find in this kind of environment) is the camaraderie and real sense of family within this company. We work together and play together in every sense of the phrase, and this is how we're able to keep on moving that bar in a northerly direction. Simply put, we do what we love and we love what we do - and we don't stop until we're 100% satisfied.

The plain fact is - and you can call it a cliché if you like - a commitment to making the world's finest products is a pretty tall order. It takes a team of committed people to pull it off and that's some long hours cranking away at a desk, around a table, out on the road and in the design room. Add this to the relative serenity of a couple or three mandatory lunch ride discussions and the result is a pretty tight bunch of folks working together to achieve a common goal - to put the fun back into some damned serious composite engineering.

So here it is. We've given you some idea of where you're going and now you've arrived at the start of an altogether new journey.

Oh, heads up...before you get started, you might want to go fuel up. In just a few minutes, you might just find you've a whole new reason to go ride your bike really, really fast...
